Mrs. Puff

Mrs. Puff is a supporting character voiced by Mary Jo Catlett. Here, she stands for the cast member who tries to slow the vehicle, the curse, or the crowd before somebody mistakes panic for progress. She behaves by setting rules, separating hazards, repeating instructions, and taking responsibility for people who are determined to make responsibility difficult.
You respond to peril by making it legible. You stop the skiff, name the rule, move the reckless person away from the edge, and repeat the instruction until it survives the panic. You do not need the scene to become calm; you need it to become survivable, with fewer people learning consequences directly from the floor. Mrs. Puff fits because your care has structure. You understand that freedom without preparation can turn an adventure into a procession of injuries, so you slow the pace and separate hazards. The downside is that caution can become a climate of dread. If every path begins with a warning, others may stop hearing the useful parts and treat your guidance as another unwanted obstacle.
