This page explains where machines are involved in making this site and where they are not. We would rather say it plainly than have you guess.

Quiz drafts are produced with the help of a large language model ([either OpenAI or Anthropic models, depending on configuration]). The model is given the facts we collected about a work — its characters, their roles, when it was published — and asked to write questions, options and result texts in our house voice.

Nothing reaches the site without a person deciding that it should. A generated draft arrives in the editor as a draft and cannot be published until an editor works through a checklist the system enforces: title, address, section, franchise, at least one question, at least two results, a validated configuration, result texts of a minimum length, a summary, a paragraph about the work, SEO fields, and images that are present and licensed. Publication is refused — not warned about — while any required item is unmet.

We use the model for writing, never for facts. Which characters exist, who is a villain, when a series began: all of that comes from the sources listed on our Copyright page and is not asked of the model.

Images

Illustrations are generated. They are not scans, frames or artwork taken from the works they refer to.

Each image carries a licence record: how it was made, with what model and under what prompt, and who at our end approved it. An image without a complete record cannot be attached to a published page.

What we do not do

We do not generate facts. We do not generate the underlying data about works and characters. We do not publish anything automatically. We do not present generated illustrations as official artwork.

Accuracy

Quiz results are entertainment and are described as such in our Terms of Use. But the facts around them — names, spellings, which work a character belongs to — are meant to be right, and we would like to know when they are not.

If this changes

If we begin publishing anything without human review, this page will say so before it happens. That is the commitment: the disclosure comes first, not after someone notices.
