Hawkman (Carter Hall)
Hawkman (Carter Hall) is the twentieth-century reincarnation of Prince Khufu of ancient Egypt, killed by Hath-Set and drawn back into heroic life as Hawkman. He is married to Shiera Sanders and is the father of Hector Hall. Carter’s behaviour turns on recurrence: old violence, museum knowledge, and the sense that a current case may have roots buried under centuries.
You do not treat the past as decoration. If a blade, inscription, or tomb chamber appears in the middle of a Midway case, you slow down long enough to ask what is repeating and who benefits from everyone calling it coincidence. You can fight, but you would rather know which old wound the fight is standing on. Carter Hall belongs here because his identity carries ancient Egypt into the present without making it harmless. The warning is that pattern-hunting can harden into fatalism. When you expect every present choice to confirm an earlier tragedy, you may stop seeing the person in front of you and start arguing with a century that cannot answer back. The map can become a cage.
